After a long winter filled with holidays and school, our family has travel fever! We can’t wait to get out and explore someplace new.
One of our favorite places in spring? New Orleans! Besides all of the wonderful food, sights, and attractions for families, the Jazz & Heritage Festival is held the last week in April and the first week in May.
Another favorite place to visit in spring is Arkansas, which is called The Natural State for good reason! Check out my Outdoor Arkansas photo essay.
If a big vacation isn’t in your budget right now, you can still get that vacation feeling with some small weekend trips close to home. Some fun places and events perfect for a day-trip or weekend include:
- Strasburg, PA, a great destination for train enthusiasts, where you can stay in a real caboose!
- Baltimore, where spring is the perfect time to explore Inner Harbor (we enjoyed a wonderful 2-day mini vacation there one March with our sons).
Whatever you do, just get out there and have fun!
